BioWare Corp. Announces New "BioWare Austin" Studio

Since its where I work I gotta pimp my own company. :)
Canadian videogame developer BioWare Corp. has announced the opening of a new studio, BioWare Austin, based in Austin, Texas. It is the second of BioWare's studios and the first to be located outside of Canada.

BioWare Austin has already begun work on a Massively Multiplayer Online roleplaying game (MMORPG) title; the new game will mark BioWare's debut in the Massively Multiplayer Online space.
All the cool kids are doing MMO's. ;) Link to the PR.

I still think that the MMO is digressing. It is almost a full-time job at this point.

So when do we get an in-depth report on where BioWare wants you to help them go with machinima? Or are you under control of a wide-spread NDA? Obviously we're not gonna ask for the scoop on all the future games, but your position is a big deal for machinima.

    Hey Mu,

With being so new I'm being very cautious right now on what I post concerning my job. Once I get more into a groove where I know what I can and can not say I'll be sharing everything I can. But hey, its only been 3 weeks!

Its not so much where BioWare wants me to help them go with machinima. I am actually part of a team of 3 'Cinematic Designers' and we are working on conversations and functional cutscenes in the game. So I'm pretty much doing machinima at its most fundamental level, creating in-game cutscenes for areas in the game that have elements of the story to be told. As it is, I'm in unrealEd all day using BioWare assets to get my scenes done. Which has been very cool so far!

Sounds great. I knew you'd be working on cinematics, I guess by "go with machinima" I meant where they wanted a person from the machinima community, you, to help them go. Not really meaning them making machinima.

No pressure on details. I definitely know why they might want to be a bit tight-lipped. Just know any details are VERY appreciated.
